A FAMILY STORY, ROOTED IN LYON
Maison Cisternino brings together Pascal’s Italian design and the support of Ateliers GEM, a family workshop based in the Lyon region. The designer’s sensibility meets the experience of the jewellery crafts.
Founded by Gino and Bruno Cisternino in 2002, Ateliers GEM has its roots in stone setting. Its expertise has grown to encompass the different jewellery crafts.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE WORKSHOP
A journey through the crafts of Ateliers GEM. Processes are adapted to each creation.

DESIGN & 3D MODELLING
The design office prepares the digital model and prototype, translating the drawing into a piece that can be made.

MOULDING & CASTING
Lost-wax casting or a mould derived from 3D printing: the casting method is chosen to suit the project.

GOLDSMITHING
Assembly, soldering and sanding transform the raw components into a jewel ready for the next stages.

STONE SETTING
Prong, bead, bezel or channel settings: stones are secured in the metal with great precision.

POLISHING & FINISHING
Polishing reduces the marks left by manufacturing. Final buffing and cleaning then reveal the surfaces’ shine.
